Shadowscapes Tarot – Knight of Wands

We see a male figure riding a mythical lion with 2 horns [they look like those of the gazelles]. The rider wears a shiny armor and holds a spear. Both the lion and the rider look away from us, in the same direction – a sign they are very in tune with each other. Another indication of this are the green stones decorating the rider’s armor and the harness on the lion. The stones are placed over their chest/hearts.

5 foxes run along them, but they look in different directions – are they making sure they’re not attacked out of a sudden?

There is a spiral on the lion’s side, as well as a seashell directly under the lion.

The red ribbon we well know now, is wrapped around the rider’s arm, as well as having a part hanging off of his arm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
This scene makes me think the young man went hunting [foxes are a type of dog after all]. He is also a rather strong group leader, one that shines the most, and he might even rescue you.
He likes his comfort- he’s using a rather comfortable looking saddle to ride the lion.
He likes to be in control. His control might be a bit brutal though: he seems to be holding on to the lion’s mane as there are no visible reigns there – pulling the lion’s mane can be more painful.
Shadowscapes Tarot – Queen of Wands
This is another musical card -just like the page was.
This time, the female – a mythical being as she has both horns and faerie like wings, plays a harp build into a living tree. She wears a red gown, and has long blond hair.
We can also see faces and figures in the bark of the tree: 2 small fae figures are taking in her tune. 4 birds fly out, seemingly towards us. A 5th bird rests on the harp.
A fox is waiting at the female’s feet, while other 2 foxes sit in a bubble? or perhaps in a fox nest, under the tree. They’re not alone: a fae is there as well. These 2 foxes and the fae look up towards the lady, giving more the impression of a fox crib – or it burrow? Light radiates from the lady and the tree bears some green balls – or are they fruits? 3 gigantic seashells [the Fibonacci spiral] make up the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The female feels empowered when she plays her harp. She’s a strong woman and she can inspire others too, to go out there and do what they’re supposed to – this is why the birds fly away.

She is free like a bird [the dark one sitting on the harp] and she knows how to resonate with others, to make them do the right thing [or what she wants them to do]. In a way this is manipulation, but she doesn’t necessarily do it out of malice, but because she is wiser.

Her intuition never failed her, and this allows her to stand tall and stating her ground.

The card could also represent a very artistic person – music, painting, sculpting: something that speaks to the heart and soul of others. Whatever she creates has the power to move others.

Shadowscapes Tarot – Page of Wands

card details

A female figure dressed in orange plays the violin with a really long wand. The wand curl and grows green leaves at one end. There is a tear drop shape design on her forehead. She also has crystal-like, multicolored wings. A red ribbon is wrapped and tied to her upper left arm. There is also a strong light at her back, and she stands tall.

5 foxes at her feet, curled against her skirt listen to her music. 2 mystical figures accompany her: one beats a drum, the other plays a guitar like instrument [what do they call that instrument?] Several fae figures fly around the female, mesmerized by her music.

We also see 2 large sea shells on the ground – Fibonacci spirals. 2 tree branches, and what appears to be a circle behind everything.

~~~~~~
All I can say, is that I can almost hear the tune she plays: calm, hypnotic, yet full of energy, and healing at the same time.
The foxes seem to have been on quite the journey and adventures – from discovering the wand on the ace, to protecting their young ones in the 7 of wands, and so on. Now they rest, soothed by the music, and they refuel.
Shadowscapes Study – Two of Pentacles
From Dara’s post: [Read more here.]
This image is of a horned man on the ball of one foot, on a platform balanced on smaller, very unstable stones. He juggles two pentacles and maintains the balance, of not only the pentacles but also of his self on the platform. There’s a monkey with a butterfly on its face and a fairy dangling a bell from a red ribbon. There are red ribbons also tied to the man’s right arm. He also has a red triangle on his chest and each foot. There are fairies all about, a lizard in the circle motif of the pinnacle, and a green bird/dragon perhaps adhered to the standing platform.
What is interesting is that the weight distribution seems more heavy on the right side, with the monkey and fairy sitting on that side, a hole carved out of the left side and a bird adhered to the right. That means the person must work extra hard perhaps to maintain this balance of his self.
My post:
This card makes me think of more pragmatic things: an accountant or even better a manager [after reading both the explanation Stephanie gave, and the meaning of the two of pentacles on this page]
This is no ordinary man – he has horns, and he is confident that whatever he does is right and that works, and he has ‘high spirits’ [you can even see them on the card above the pentacles] he’ll be able to do it for a long time. Being no ordinary man, he might be right.
The monkey is there to remind us that while we think we can be this being for a long time, any wrong move or sudden change can ruin it all. [I see monkeys as unpredictable, not to be trusted and tricksters]
The triangles could mean he’s passionate [as they could be a stylized flame], he has fire in his heart and this gives his feet a lot of power to perform this balancing act.
Adding: passionate or full of energy and strength.
He looks away from us, and he wears a mask – is this a sign of his dual personality? is he two faced? I perceive some managers to have 2 faces. I think this character has grand ideas: the light behind him indicates it, as well as the direction of his stare.
Shadowscapes Tarot – King of Wands
The first thing to notice about this card is the strong warm light coming out from the back of the male character seen in the center of the card.
Lions surround him. His wand is actually a staff with a lion head at the top.
He has impressive stag horns – an indication he is out of this world.
I can’t stop seeing similarities in imagery with the knight of wands card: strong light, strong men, lions, long staffs, and horns.
It seems as if the knight finally matured into the king, but still kept a wild side. Whatever adventures the knight was searching for, helped him become stronger than he anticipated: he seems to be able to control the nature with his very presence.
He is quite majestic, just like a stag.
I’m not sure if the lions in the air are a manifestation of his power or not, but it might.
This king has his feet well on the ground – as the sphinx at his feet indicate. His legs are apart, for a more stable stance.  His mind is very active, he’s quick in thinking, and he might think well out of the box. His opinions are strong. He could make you think like him, if he really tries.
Shadowscapes Tarot – Eight of Pentacles
We see a big black and red spider building his web. He is close to what appears to be its center. He used a near-by tree branch as the basis for his web, as well as a rather thin whimsical grass-blade for a second side. We don’t see a 3rd point of support, which makes me think this spider is not as wise as we would assume. His web also has some holes and doesn’t seem ‘perfect’. Any wind blowing can tear it apart, which probably happened already.
If you look closely at the art on the card you can see 2 human-like figures and 3 faces in the tree branch. How scary is that? Maybe the web is more effective than what we first thought?
Since Stephanie chose a spider and its web for this card – we can see the obvious reasons, I think it’s also a warning? Be wary of those who always seem to have a plan ready? To be careful not to fall into traps carefully designed that we don’t see them? [like a fly] – think of a bad loan [like the payday loan], or of the secret charges of a hotel, since the pentacles can represent money..
Or is it that when we think we have the secret plan to success [of any kind] we should work at it in secret, in ways that would make people wonder ‘what is he up to’ ? [I’m not sure what I mean here, but something close to being an entrepreneur in a niche nobody thought of before, or is yet to be explored in your area].
Shadowscapes Tarot – Ten of Pentacles
On this card we see a young woman riding a dragon. She holds a peach and the dragon has a pentacle-coin dandling from one of his claws. There is a castle in the far distance.
The general color of the card is a vibrant green with hints of golden – making me think of money. There is only one corner that is purple.. [royalty?]
~~~
the image makes me think that the financial security is not necessarily self earned, or at least not entirely. it comes from a strong supporter. he too might have something to gain to help out. this particular image makes me think of a ‘sugaring’ relationship. [please do your own research on this subject if you’re not familiar with it.]

The dragon hoarded a fortune and is maybe too old, or tired to enjoy it all by himself. Sharing it with the young woman he can be sure it will be put to a good use – the fruit she carries has a pit as well, that can grow into a tree. But she needs some help, even financial help to make this happen. The dragon might get enough just from seeing the woman using the resources she receives for something good.

Her belly seems rounded – sign of pregnancy. She might be full of ideas that need proper care and resources to grow and materialize.

I think the Rider-Waite card is well interpreted here.

It also seems like to me they’re having one-another’s back. There’s trust between them. Partnership – mostly in a business-like environment.

Online shopping haul

Not long ago I promised I would show you guys the stuff I bought online, from a Chinese website called wish.com.

DISCLAIMER: this is not a sponsored post, I bought everything with my own money, and the opinions are my own!

Online shopping is good, as long as you don’t buy clothes, shoes, or expensive electronics. You must pay attention to what others have to say about the seller too, to see if you can trust  – but even then, you can get cheated.

This site wish is easy to use, you can sign up using your gmail account or even your facebook account. I paid with paypal, but I think credit/debit cards are also accepted.

This is what i ordered – a tote, 3 watches (!),  a deck of regular playing cards, and a tarot deck. I also ordered a bra for my friend – it fits her, but i will not show the actual product, and a whetstone to sharpen knives – it never arrived 😦

This is the Shadowscapes Tarot deck, translated into simplified Chinese, i believe. The English card names are at the top of the cards. There is one typing error on one of the cards “nice of cups” instead of “nine of cups, ” which i find quite funny, especially since this is a good card to get in a reading. The typo is barely noticeable, so it doesn’t bother me.

There are 2 extra blank cards included – I guess I can use them in case I lose one. As you can see the cards are quite long, so normal hand shuffling is a bit difficult. Maybe my palms are too short?

My other card deck is a playing one. But the images are with Vampire Knight, as you can see. Vampire Knight is a manga [Japanese comics] by Hino Matsuri. The cards are quite small compared to the tarot. Shuffling them is so easy!

I must admit, when i got them, i thought they’re bigger – before opening them up. I was quite impressed that they were sealed in plastic – the tarot wasn’t. Once i took them in my hand, i thought they’re really cute because of how small they appeared.

I didn’t use them, but I assume in dim light, it will be difficult to tell which card is which, so probably if you ever get your hands on a similar deck, play your games in stronger light.

So these are the watches I got. Why 3? well, i have a small obsession for watches. I have 4 of them in total. One – the first I ever got, is a Michael Kors. [I can’t really remember where it is] I’m not wearing it because it needs a battery and it had a small accident, and lost a decorative plate. I’m pissed about it – I still have it, but I have trouble putting it back with glue it doesn’t stay.

These watches didn’t arrive all at once, though the green ones have been ordered at the same time. The lighter green one was supposed to be more blueish. but the green one looks amazing! The first one to arrive was the one with a black bracelet. It is a mechanical one – the reason I got it. The other 2 cost me $1 each, and $1 shipping for each. I really liked the design, even though they require a battery.

The seller was nice enough to send them with a battery in AND with the hour set for Romania! how cool is that?

The tote is not as big as I thought it would be. I can fit a 15″ laptop in it, if i put it with the narrow side in. And it doesn’t go in all the way – but I rarely take my laptop with me, so that’s fine. It seems well done, though the sewing could have been more straight – in places where it is noticeable.

I like that it has a small inner pocket. The front is purple, and the other side is gray, like the handles and the bottom. The handles are long enough to allow you to wear the bag on the shoulder.

SHIPPING

The mechanical watch was the first to arrive, after some 3 weeks.  I thought i will never get to see my tarot deck nor my playing cards – they arrived quite late. The bag also arrived quite fast, but i forgot how fast. I also forgot how fast the other items came, but the 2 green watches arrived 1 week apart – shipped separately, though the seller was the same.

Speaking of sellers, there are many sellers on wish, just like on ebay or etsy. The prices can change from one day to the other, but they’re generally low. If you know me, you’ll know these items were cheap – since I hate spending money on expensive stuff.

site pictures VS real item pictures

There are slight color differences between the real life items and the image you see provided by the seller. The light green watch was the biggest offender, but since i like green, I’m not complaining. My light, though natural, wasn’t the best to take pictures. The tarot deck is less intense, much more pastel. As for the mechanical watch – just like with the others, several colors were available, that’s why mine is not golden.

Sadly, if you have a problem with your item, the customer support is from wish, and it is not the seller. you might also have the “luck” of talking to someone who doesn’t speak English well. You have 30 days for returns or refunds. This means i lost whatever I paid for my whetstone.

This is all for now. See you again next week!
