Shadowscapes Tarot – Knight of Wands

We see a male figure riding a mythical lion with 2 horns [they look like those of the gazelles]. The rider wears a shiny armor and holds a spear. Both the lion and the rider look away from us, in the same direction – a sign they are very in tune with each other. Another indication of this are the green stones decorating the rider’s armor and the harness on the lion. The stones are placed over their chest/hearts.

5 foxes run along them, but they look in different directions – are they making sure they’re not attacked out of a sudden?

There is a spiral on the lion’s side, as well as a seashell directly under the lion.

The red ribbon we well know now, is wrapped around the rider’s arm, as well as having a part hanging off of his arm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
This scene makes me think the young man went hunting [foxes are a type of dog after all]. He is also a rather strong group leader, one that shines the most, and he might even rescue you.
He likes his comfort- he’s using a rather comfortable looking saddle to ride the lion.
He likes to be in control. His control might be a bit brutal though: he seems to be holding on to the lion’s mane as there are no visible reigns there – pulling the lion’s mane can be more painful.
Shadowscapes Tarot – Queen of Wands
This is another musical card -just like the page was.
This time, the female – a mythical being as she has both horns and faerie like wings, plays a harp build into a living tree. She wears a red gown, and has long blond hair.
We can also see faces and figures in the bark of the tree: 2 small fae figures are taking in her tune. 4 birds fly out, seemingly towards us. A 5th bird rests on the harp.
A fox is waiting at the female’s feet, while other 2 foxes sit in a bubble? or perhaps in a fox nest, under the tree. They’re not alone: a fae is there as well. These 2 foxes and the fae look up towards the lady, giving more the impression of a fox crib – or it burrow? Light radiates from the lady and the tree bears some green balls – or are they fruits? 3 gigantic seashells [the Fibonacci spiral] make up the ground.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The female feels empowered when she plays her harp. She’s a strong woman and she can inspire others too, to go out there and do what they’re supposed to – this is why the birds fly away.

She is free like a bird [the dark one sitting on the harp] and she knows how to resonate with others, to make them do the right thing [or what she wants them to do]. In a way this is manipulation, but she doesn’t necessarily do it out of malice, but because she is wiser.

Her intuition never failed her, and this allows her to stand tall and stating her ground.

The card could also represent a very artistic person – music, painting, sculpting: something that speaks to the heart and soul of others. Whatever she creates has the power to move others.

Shadowscapes Tarot – Page of Wands

card details

A female figure dressed in orange plays the violin with a really long wand. The wand curl and grows green leaves at one end. There is a tear drop shape design on her forehead. She also has crystal-like, multicolored wings. A red ribbon is wrapped and tied to her upper left arm. There is also a strong light at her back, and she stands tall.

5 foxes at her feet, curled against her skirt listen to her music. 2 mystical figures accompany her: one beats a drum, the other plays a guitar like instrument [what do they call that instrument?] Several fae figures fly around the female, mesmerized by her music.

We also see 2 large sea shells on the ground – Fibonacci spirals. 2 tree branches, and what appears to be a circle behind everything.

~~~~~~
All I can say, is that I can almost hear the tune she plays: calm, hypnotic, yet full of energy, and healing at the same time.
The foxes seem to have been on quite the journey and adventures – from discovering the wand on the ace, to protecting their young ones in the 7 of wands, and so on. Now they rest, soothed by the music, and they refuel.
Shadowscapes Study – Two of Pentacles
From Dara’s post: [Read more here.]
This image is of a horned man on the ball of one foot, on a platform balanced on smaller, very unstable stones. He juggles two pentacles and maintains the balance, of not only the pentacles but also of his self on the platform. There’s a monkey with a butterfly on its face and a fairy dangling a bell from a red ribbon. There are red ribbons also tied to the man’s right arm. He also has a red triangle on his chest and each foot. There are fairies all about, a lizard in the circle motif of the pinnacle, and a green bird/dragon perhaps adhered to the standing platform.
What is interesting is that the weight distribution seems more heavy on the right side, with the monkey and fairy sitting on that side, a hole carved out of the left side and a bird adhered to the right. That means the person must work extra hard perhaps to maintain this balance of his self.
My post:
This card makes me think of more pragmatic things: an accountant or even better a manager [after reading both the explanation Stephanie gave, and the meaning of the two of pentacles on this page]
This is no ordinary man – he has horns, and he is confident that whatever he does is right and that works, and he has ‘high spirits’ [you can even see them on the card above the pentacles] he’ll be able to do it for a long time. Being no ordinary man, he might be right.
The monkey is there to remind us that while we think we can be this being for a long time, any wrong move or sudden change can ruin it all. [I see monkeys as unpredictable, not to be trusted and tricksters]
The triangles could mean he’s passionate [as they could be a stylized flame], he has fire in his heart and this gives his feet a lot of power to perform this balancing act.
Adding: passionate or full of energy and strength.
He looks away from us, and he wears a mask – is this a sign of his dual personality? is he two faced? I perceive some managers to have 2 faces. I think this character has grand ideas: the light behind him indicates it, as well as the direction of his stare.
RIP Chester [Linkin Park]
RIP Chester. I wish you found peace. Sadly you’ll never get to read this. 😦
This entry is beyond serious.
Depression goes hand in hand with suicide.
These two topics are generally taboo. But we need to talk about them, we need to learn how to read the signs. And we need to be more understanding of those suffering from these … I’m not sure how to call them.
If you’re like me, you probably have no idea what depression is. Or how does it feel. How it REALLY feels.
Sometime last year I read about a woman who went to a hair salon wanting to buy some hair products: her hair was a rat’s nest, all tangled up. Poor woman thought that by getting expensive hair care the tangles will magically go away: they would not. Only a careful hand with a comb can do something about that. One of the employees stopped her from shopping and instead invited her for a de-tangling session. The woman only managed to show up a few weeks later after several attempts at making an appointment and then canceling or not showing up. the woman was severely depressed. so much she didn’t care to wash or comb her hair.
Depression is also walking down the street and not realizing a car is about to hit you, or not caring if it does [this happened to me, but I think it was a mistake since i was really upset that day]. Sometimes I get the blues, and it can last for some days. But then it passes.
But you know what? Depression is like a weed that keep growing back, like some mold you don’t notice because it forms behind some furniture. And it spreads slowly. slowly but steady. And when you finally see it, the only solution is to completely remove the wall.
Depression is like a worm in an apple, in a way: you can’t know the apple is rotten until you cut it open. Depressed people are similar because depression is not only tired eyes and black eyeliner. But there are signs. Signs that a trained eye – or another sufferer- is able to see. Fake smiles, flimsy happiness that doesn’t last more than a few hours.
I know depression because my partner is depressed. What scares me the most is that they have almost the same mannerisms as Chester in this short clip. Not to mention a very similar way of talking, intonation and all.
I just watched a few Linkin Park videos. In the end for instance, clearly describes depression and even suicide. I still have a difficult time realizing he’s gone: it’s unreal. He didn’t really mean anything to me, but … I can’t realize what it is.
I even have a confession to make. I knew he would die – just didn’t know how. I have some sort of a 6th sense, or psychic abilities, if you will – that’s why I started posting tarot interpretations. Sometimes I just KNOW things. A few months back I started watching their Breaking the Habit video. In the middle of one session I heard a voice telling me he will die. I brushed it off. I am not sure I would have been able to prevent it. But those close to him could have!
People NEED to start learning about depression more. To recognize it, and also how they can help those suffering from it. Depression doesn’t pass with pills – they just might make things bearable. A therapist doesn’t always help – because they’re also human, and they’re not always good at being a therapist.
What could help more is for friends and family:
  • not to push the sufferer into unpleasant situations, by saying “oh, come on, come with us!” Instead something like “if you change your mind, we’re at….”
  • not to act condescending, by saying “oh, you’ll get over it!” NO they wont! it’s not the blues, not just sadness, but deep shit. so deep your brain can’t comprehend it. A “hang in there” or “i’m here” is sometimes much more helpful. this attitude gets them One Step Closer to the edge..
  • check on the person 24/7, like on an infant, like first time parents do.
  • read forums about mental disorders: they generally talk about depression as well. they can learn more about how sufferers hide it, how to deal with it, and so on.
  • understand that for a depressed person, ANYTHING can be a trigger for suicide – it doesn’t matter how small it is in their peer’s eyes. It could be as small as a Papercut.
  • not to blame the depressed person. see the point above.  telling them calmly something is wrong, but that it’s not serious and it can quite easily be fixed is a better approach.
  • thanking the depressed person for everything they do: joining them for breakfast, for a group activity, or anything they have a really hard time doing.
Please, if you know someone depressed, DO NOT laugh at them, do not tell them they’re weak or cowards when they ‘casually’ talk about suicide. Most definitely DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE tell them to ‘just do it” because in that moment you just took their life away! YOU killed that person! Morally, it won’t be a suicide anymore, but an act of taking another person’s life! If you think you can live with that hanging on your conscience, then you’re a psychopath and you’re a danger to society, and need to be locked up!
All those people complaining Linkin Park’s music changed, THEY KILLED Chester. and sadly, I saw MANY people lately acting the same way: laughing at various popular people, and thinking of themselves they’re better than said popular people.
I hope Chester’s family and friends are strong enough to get over this tragedy.
Shadowscapes Tarot – Eight of Pentacles
We see a big black and red spider building his web. He is close to what appears to be its center. He used a near-by tree branch as the basis for his web, as well as a rather thin whimsical grass-blade for a second side. We don’t see a 3rd point of support, which makes me think this spider is not as wise as we would assume. His web also has some holes and doesn’t seem ‘perfect’. Any wind blowing can tear it apart, which probably happened already.
If you look closely at the art on the card you can see 2 human-like figures and 3 faces in the tree branch. How scary is that? Maybe the web is more effective than what we first thought?
Since Stephanie chose a spider and its web for this card – we can see the obvious reasons, I think it’s also a warning? Be wary of those who always seem to have a plan ready? To be careful not to fall into traps carefully designed that we don’t see them? [like a fly] – think of a bad loan [like the payday loan], or of the secret charges of a hotel, since the pentacles can represent money..
Or is it that when we think we have the secret plan to success [of any kind] we should work at it in secret, in ways that would make people wonder ‘what is he up to’ ? [I’m not sure what I mean here, but something close to being an entrepreneur in a niche nobody thought of before, or is yet to be explored in your area].
Shadowscapes Tarot – Ten of Pentacles
On this card we see a young woman riding a dragon. She holds a peach and the dragon has a pentacle-coin dandling from one of his claws. There is a castle in the far distance.
The general color of the card is a vibrant green with hints of golden – making me think of money. There is only one corner that is purple.. [royalty?]
~~~
the image makes me think that the financial security is not necessarily self earned, or at least not entirely. it comes from a strong supporter. he too might have something to gain to help out. this particular image makes me think of a ‘sugaring’ relationship. [please do your own research on this subject if you’re not familiar with it.]

The dragon hoarded a fortune and is maybe too old, or tired to enjoy it all by himself. Sharing it with the young woman he can be sure it will be put to a good use – the fruit she carries has a pit as well, that can grow into a tree. But she needs some help, even financial help to make this happen. The dragon might get enough just from seeing the woman using the resources she receives for something good.

Her belly seems rounded – sign of pregnancy. She might be full of ideas that need proper care and resources to grow and materialize.

I think the Rider-Waite card is well interpreted here.

It also seems like to me they’re having one-another’s back. There’s trust between them. Partnership – mostly in a business-like environment.
